Wildlife Disease Outbreak Investigation

WIldlife Disease Outbreak Investigation

Author/Presenter: Krysten Schuler

Duration: 11:06

Know how to respond to a wildlife disease outbreak and explore options for disease management.

Wildlife biologists are usually the first  to respond to a wildlife mortality event. How do we define a wildlife disease outbreak? What are the steps involved with a response? We will walk through the process of finding the sick or dead animals, ensuring you have quality samples to submit to the diagnostic lab, and safely documenting conditions. We will also touch on implementing disease management strategies.
