Gavin Hitchener

I am an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Population Medicine and Diagnostic Science at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, working as the Cornell University Duck Research Laboratory director and as an avian and wildlife pathologist cooperatively with the NYSDEC Wildlife Health Program since 2015. Prior to working at the Duck Research Laboratory, I was an anatomic pathology resident at Cornell where I fostered a love of avian and wildlife pathology.

I have a special interest in infectious animal diseases and enjoy working at the interface between wildlife, domestic, companion animal, and human health diseases.
