I am a wildlife genomics researcher focused on applying genomic and computational approaches to address challenges in wildlife health, conservation, and management. As a K. Lisa Yang Wildlife Health Fellow at Cornell University, my current research concentrates on elucidating the genomic and transcriptomic basis of susceptibility to Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) in free-ranging white-tailed deer. By identifying genetic variants and molecular pathways linked to disease risk, I aim to develop predictive models that integrate genomic data to identify populations at higher risk of infection and to support science-based management decisions. Beyond research, I am committed to translating genomics into practice by developing educational resources that help wildlife professionals, policymakers, and the public understand the value of incorporating genetics into deer management. I am also interested in landscape genomics, the integration of environmental and genetic data to understand population processes, and the application of machine learning and artificial intelligence to wildlife health, disease ecology, and conservation genomics.
