The goal of Marine Mammal Pathology Rounds is to bring together stranding responders, pathologists, trainees, and other interested partners to discuss cool and challenging cases in a friendly, learning environment. Rounds are held in both case-based and topic-based formats. For case-based, we invite the responding organization to provide information on the stranding response and necropsy, and then ask the pathologist to review the histopathology and any ancillary testing results. Bringing together the groups conducting the gross and microscopic reviews of these cases may yield new insights for these cases and future cases! We cover common findings in stranded marine mammals, and we may throw in some unusual ones as well – the cases we choose will be based on audience preference. For topic-based rounds, the presenter discusses a particular topic of interest to marine mammal pathology.

*Please note - Anatomic pathology rounds typically include graphic photos, including various necropsy images. All videos within the Marine Mammal Pathology Rounds playlist link include these types of images.
