We are just two days away from the launch of Corvus, our new wildlife health information system. Starting at 12 PM (EST) on January 29, the NWDC specimen submission form will be unavailable for new submissions while we transition to Corvus. If there are specimens that must be submitted at this time, please contact the CWHL or WHU directly for instructions.
How to Prepare for January 30
- Bookmark the site: Save corvuswildlifehealth.org to your browser or mobile home screen now.
- Accessing your account: You do not need to register. Your login will be your DEC email address. On launch day, go to the corvuswildlifehealth.org and click “Forgot password” to receive an email and set your password for login.
Corvus was designed to help us capture and manage more data with new search tools to replace our previous, more limited systems, while getting diagnostic data back to you faster.
Key upgrades
- Field-ready submissions: The interface is optimized for mobile and tablets. You can now submit data directly from the field.
- Capture every observation: Unlike the old NWDC form, Corvus allows you to record wildlife health events even when no specimen is submitted. By no longer using “specimen-only” information, this allows us to capture more data, allowing for better surveillance.
- Better search & dashboards: Corvus replaces the CWHL website search. You’ll have dashboards with data filters, making it easy to find, summarize, and visualize cases.
- Direct lab integration: By syncing with Cornell’s diagnostic systems, test results reach you faster.
- Inventory management: Corvus includes sample management and inventory tracking to keep freezers and shipments organized.
